The big dork who writes this blog

Talking about yourself always seems like the hardest thing to do. I feel lucky enough to have a huge variety of experiences that have influenced my life and given me a diverse set of talents.

I graduated from Ouachita Baptist University in 2005 with a degree in political science. While I was there I freelanced web design and marketing projects when I was not working campaigns. After graduating I had no clue what the hell to do with a political science degree so I decided to focus in on the interactive marketing side that I developed as well at college. I had a few odd jobs out of college and finally landed at an interactive ad agency.

There I learned the world of developing broad strategies for very different (not to mention larger) clients than I could have ever done on my own. After some time of making tourism clients look good I was offered an interactive marketing director position at a local company. It was a good step up and we did some fantastic work together. Currently I am a marketing and communications manager for a well established international economic development group. I work closely with state agencies and other economic developers to make the state and the country a better place.

On the side I still do freelance as I’ve always done. I’ve expanded beyond interactive and spend a large portion of my time with communications, photography, social media and event planning.

As if I didn’t have enough to do I am working on the downhill part on a Master’s degree in Applied Communication at the University of Arkansas at Little Rock.
